Appreciate Serenity

Two days ago, I got a task from mom. It is to take a walk along the shore or the quay to feed the swans. She said she saw five swans from our terrace. My mom loves birds, so she feed those out in the wild/nature (in nearby areas) whenever she has the time. She hangs pieces of bread in the pear tree in our garden so that birds have something to eat. Small birds, pigeons, crows and seagulls are her usual costumers. Swans too but you know they’re shy and they’re big so mom goes to them and feed them directly by the shore.

I only found two of them (The others probably flew to the nearby city.) and I got like a big bag of bread crumbs with me.

Don’t worry I didn’t overfeed them.

After feeding time, I watched them go. Then it came to me how important it is to appreciate this peaceful moment and this life. I don’t know if you feel the same as I do, but I have a not so good feeling about the things that are happening in the world right now. But I’m not losing hope. I know there’s hope for everything.

An update

So yes I’m home at my parents’ this week. I’m glad to be here and I’m glad to help them with anything. I love them so much. Also, they’re not getting anymore younger. One of them got a problem with the eyes already. I wish that I got powers/magic to heal but unfortunately I have no super powers but I hope my presence here would have a healing effect.

Simple Joys in Life

The tea set that I ordered from my Japanese friend has finally arrived today. I’m so happy because I have my very own teapot now. I can now brew and serve Sencha tea into an authentic Japanese teaware.

I got this for 67 usd (Shipping is included.)

Set 5
The set is composed of a 0.5 L size of teapot and 5 pcs of teacups with lids.
Set 4
I found a small card in the box. I believe it says about the history of this teaware brand. (I can’t read Japanese. 😦 )
Set 3
The teapot out of the box. The handle is made of plastic.

Simply gorgeous.

I opted for a floral blue one, because blue is relaxing for the eyes, in my opinion. When I asked my friend about tea sets, she sent me like 8 pictures of teapots. From the traditional ones to the modern ones and from the simple white and blacks and to the ones with patterns. I like mine simple yet with feminine touch so I chose the one with floral designs.

The tea set looks nicer and more eye catching in person than in the picture. I could say that my friend Eri, made a very good job finding me a tea set.

Disappointed at Humanity

We humans are blessed because we’ve been given the ability to think and thus making us superior to other species. We also have the best tools in the world which are our hands. Without them we won’t be able to work for food and shelter.

Last Monday, my friend and I went for a walk at Møllebukta, one of favorite places in Stavanger. It’s a nice sunny day, the sea’s calm and the temperature was great, around 16 degrees Celsius.

The view never fails to amaze us even though we’ve been here a couple of times before. So we stopped and took some pictures from our phones. Then we moved on and found one of our favorite spots which is the cottage with table and benches. Usually, people from the nearby places come there to meet friends and grill there. It’s open for everybody. But when we got there we were surprised to see trash.

It turns out that a/some group of people used the cottage and when they’re done they just left without cleaning up after themselves. Their trash told us that they had grilled sausages, corn in a can, cigarettes and soda.

I can’t understand these people. Is it hard to clean up? There are lots of trash cans in the area and if they can buy groceries and take it with them at the cottage, then I’m sure that they can also carry the trash into the trash cans nearby.

It’s funny. When we were alive we spent much of our time staring up at the cosmos and wondering what was out there. We were obsessed with the moon and whether we could one day visit it. The day we finally walked on it was celebrated worldwide as perhaps man’s greatest achievement. But it was while we were there, gathering rocks from the moon’s desolate landscape, that we looked up and caught a glimpse of just how incredible our own planet was. Its singular astonishing beauty. We called her Mother Earth. Because she gave birth to us, and then we sucked her dry. -Jon Stewart

We only have one planet. So we better take care of it before it’s too late.
