Today, I had again the chance to practice my portrait photography skills. Thanks to my very good friends. These are just some of the shots that I took today. I’m glad that the shoot went well despite the gloomy weather because I was worried about shooting in low lights condition .I only had my camera and my friend’s camera, a reflector and an extra lens. I don’t have an external flash yet so the shoot today is a challenge for me.
Things that I’ve learned from today’s shoot:
Always have a plan B.
Plan how you want your model to pose.
Bring a tripod next time for shooting in low light conditions.
Autumn is the perfect time of the year for me when it comes to shooting outdoors, going for random hikes (short walks) and sightseeing. The weather is just right (Not too hot and not too cold.) and autumn colors are just magnificent.
Today was rather a tiring day for me despite the day off from work because of the fact that I’m getting the flu and was moving/lifting and cleaning my stuff. I also cancelled my gym today and that made me feel guilty so I went outside to get some fresh air and unwind. Guess what? It worked! I got better! Win win! 😀
Anyway, here are the shots that I took today. I used my Samsung S5 camera and adjusted the exposure using Lightroom. Enjoy! 🙂
Here are some of the shots from our photo shoot last Wednesday. I’m actually more into landscape photography but later on I told myself that I want to go out of my comfort zone. Taking pictures of nature is still my first love but I also want to learn more about the other different types of photography too, especially portrait photography.
I find forests interesting because whenever I’m in one I can’t help but wonder if there are mystical creatures that could suddenly appear. Like for example a unicorn, a troll or a werewolf. Who knows what the woods are hiding from the mortals.
Anyway, this shot was taken on the way to Høgstefjellet, a mountain in Åsane. This is just one of the beautiful forests in the area. One rainy day, I’ve decided to go out and hike. My plan was to reach any mountain tops in Bergen area that I’ve never been to. I read about Høgstefjellet in the internet and I got excited about hiking it because it’s not that far from where I was staying. I went hiking with Zorro the dachshund even though it’s raining and my shoes is not good enough for the muddy trails.
Being out in the nature makes me feel free and contented. It makes me forget all the unnecessary things that I crave and it motivates me to be a better person. Before, I used to be dependent on people around me when it comes to hiking (traveling), because I was afraid to get lost and I didn’t trust myself. I was anxious about being alone in the woods for example.
As time goes by and with the help from my therapist, friends, family and partner I overcame my fear and anxiety. My love for taking pictures (photography) is also one of the major factors why I continue to walk and explore unknown territories.
