If you will ask me when the summer season is in Norway, I’ll say in the month of May. This is the time of the year when temperature can be so high as approximately 30 plus degrees. Hence, people go out in shorts, mini skirts, and bikinis. June is really the start of summer here but it is usually rainy and cloudy. Not to forget the lower temperature as well!
So anyway, before the sun hides from us again, time to spend time under the sun or at least appreciate it.
The snow is back after two weeks of storm and mild weather. I am also grateful that it is getting brighter again. My mood is starting to get better and I am motivated to try something new when it comes to jobs. The economic crisis is not yet over. Yesterday, one of the biggest banks here in Norway laid off 600 employees. So yes it means an increase in unemployment rate in the country. It is depressing for those who have lost their jobs and it is also frustrating for job seekers like me to find jobs within our field.
Yesterday I had a meeting with the local social services office. They have given me tips on how to find jobs. I listened attentively even though I already know it. Then in the end of the meeting they asked me if I have a business or establishment. In my mind I was thinking, it is a good idea. I actually have business ideas already. All I need is to make a plan, budget and just execute the plan. I have faith in this because I have the knowledge in economics and accounting.
Anyway, since the weather is nice today (and so as my mood), Zorro and I went for a longer walk this morning.
Bergen is the second largest city in Norway next to Oslo and is located in the west. Bergen is a very charming city because of its unique architecture, breathtaking views and lively people. It is also known as the rainiest city in Norway because of its geography. There are Seven mountains surrounding the city which makes Bergen one of the most visited hiking places in the country and in Europe as well.
Aside from the Seven mountains, there are many hiking spots in Bergen. One of them is Toppenipa at Åsane which is just 10-15 minutes drive from the city center,
So, I’ve been here 3 times already and I never get tired of this city. There are still so much to explore and to learn. I’ll definitely keep coming back. 🙂
