Today I met her again. Though with a shaved head, I recognized her. Despite the fact that she was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks ago, she radiates with positivity. She’s back for more tests and supplementary mammograms. While she constantly smiles and said that she’s fine, her eyes told me otherwise. I felt sad for her because of her young age. But at the same time I admire her because of her courage and patience during these series of tests. When the doctor was done talking to her, she thanked me for the help and assistance during the procedures.
She is just one of the young cancer patients who come to us for rutine control of the breasts. Even though I work with them, I’m still surprised every time a young patient gets diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s the new trend-younger ladies get breast cancer these days. It’s really concerning.
