Whenever people ask me how this pregnancy is going, I always say that it feels very different this time because of the symptoms I’ve been experiencing. In my previous pregnancy, I dealt more with musculoskeletal discomfort rather than the fatigue and flu-like symptoms I have now. This time around, my nose has been especially sensitive due to allergic rhinitis, and I’ve been getting nosebleeds easily—which has been really annoying. I also found out that I have iron deficiency, so my GP prescribed iron supplements. Thankfully, my blood sugar and blood pressure are normal, and most importantly, the baby is growing well.
I noticed that my bump seemed to grow much faster around the time I found out I was pregnant, which was at about 22 weeks. It almost felt like everything suddenly caught up all at once.
Then at around 25 weeks, I had my glucose tolerance test—on the very same day as my work seminar and Christmas party.
