My take on this week’s The Daily Post photo challenge, shine.

Norwegian Landscape

Some of my friends ask me why I always have a camera with me and why I always take pictures of the place I have been many times before. The views will always be the same and the mountains will always be there. My answer to them is simple. I find the place really beautiful and it deserves more than one shot. For me a place or a mountain is never the same the next time. Also taking pictures is my way of showing my appreciation not only to Mother Nature but also to my senses.

The Photo Challenge last Friday is one of my favorite weekly themes since I love taking pictures of landscapes. Here is my take on The Daily Post Photo Challenge, Landscape. This shot was taken from Hitlandsbakkane in Åsane. This was my very first time to walk here during the day, so I was ecstatic to take a good shot from the highest part of the hill.

Theory in Practice

In my opinion, the most effective way to learn geometry is not just by reading books but by studying our surroundings. We can find geometry in almost everything.

For today’s challenge, I chose a photo that I took in a cabin trip last weekend. I’m always fascinated by details especially by parallel lines and circles and symmetry.

This post by the way is my take on Cee’s Compose Yourself a Photo Challenge: #19 Geometry in Photography.

No, it’s not what you think it is. 🙂

Parallel lines, squares and right angles. How many can you find?

Emptiness

Since the bf and the dog is out this weekend, I have the whole flat for myself. So it means the whole place is tidy and clean (which is not kept when the boys are home). You know the dog shed its fur and the bf does not put his glasses and/or plates in the dishwasher.

But I am not happy right now. I miss them. I feel empty without them. I cannot wait till they come back from the trip. I promise that I am not going to complain again.

This post is my response to The Daily Post Photo Challenge, State of Mind.

Cosplay (Updated)

This is my take on this week’s The Daily Post photo challenge, Life Imitates Art. Cosplay in my opinion is one of the living proofs of the theme this week. This shot of  my friend cosplaying Kikyo (From Inuyasha) was taken in 2014 in Manila during my four week vacation. I myself is a big fan of Japanese animation since I was small. I also cosplayed some anime characters.

Here are the shots from the same cosplay shoot. I dressed up as Kagome.

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Pets

For the first time, I am joining Cee’s Black and White photo challenge. I have been following Cee here on WordPress for quite a while now and I always get tempted to do some of the photo challenges. The reason why I am only doing this now is because I am doing photo challenges already from The Daily Post and I did not want to fill my blog with just photo challenges. But then I realized that I am already posting a lot of photos here so why not join other photo challenges as well and besides it is fun.

Anyway, this is my entry for this week’s Black and White challenge which is pets. This is my pet Zorro. A 5 year old dachshund.

Reading Time

I prefer reading time on analogue clocks over the new digital ones. They are not only stylish but they also give a relaxing effect. The sound of the pendulum swinging from left to right and the tic toc sound somehow reminds me of the older days when people relied so much on their watches, since they did not have mobile phones yet.

I told my partner that I want a pendulum clock someday when we already have a house. I also told him that I want a striking clock (grandfather clock), the one that makes a gong-ish sound. But he does not want it because for him it makes a lot of sound. We’ll see, I might challenge him in a pool game and if I win I am going to buy the most beautiful striking clock that I could find in the antique shops.

Anyway, this is my take on last Friday’s The Daily Post photo challenge, time. The invention of clock is one of the greatest breakthrough in the human history. Without clocks, we would still be living without internet, mobile phones and almost all of gadgets that we have today.

Cannot be unseen

Bookshops are one of the shops that I always check whenever I am in a mall or out in the city center. It is also my second favorite place next to the library.

I was in the city center two weeks ago. It was very cold but sunny so I did not mind walking for a couple of hours just for window shopping. I went inside a bookshop which also sells video games and checked some games and books on sale, hence I found the books about the human body parts. I simply could not unsee the books because they are colorful and the titles are quite catchy, they are also located in the middle shelf so it is easy to see. I checked one of the books and most of them are just naked pictures of the human body.

So the saying is true, nudity sells (cannot be unseen). 😛

This post is my take on The Daily Post photo challenge of the week, vibrant.
