Some people would lie to satisfy their status ego. I cannot seem to see their point but I think it is because they want others to see them on their best even if that best is just an illusion. I know it is not my business to deal with it, but it affects a lot of people.
I know someone somewhere out there who thinks that in order to have a great life, one should have a high social status in life. She would always hold a party at her grand villa just to show off her newly decorated house, new appliances, new gadgets and et cetera. However those lavish things on her house are just the sparkles of her inner pride. The things and all those gadgets were acquired by stealing and power.
I am not against in living a very luxurious life as long as you are honest, nice, and do not offend others.
