Cooking Monster

I hated cooking when I was young. I hated everything that has something to do with kitchens and food preparations. I remember when I was 15 years old, my dad asked me to put a pinch of salt on the halaan (a type of edible clam). I refused to do it but he raised his voice on me so off I went to our kitchen… furiously. So what I did, instead of putting just a small amount of salt, I took 5 tablespoons of it on the halaans. My dad noticed it of course and he scolded me, and after that he never asked me to help him with cooking anymore (IKR! I was spoiled!).
However as time goes by, I learned that sometimes we just have to rely on ourselves. The people who are close to us might leave us or in other case we might leave them for some reason, so it is absolutely necessary to learn the ways of life (and cooking!)

Ja ja , enough of the dramas, now I would like to show you some of foods I’ve made lately. 🙂

Chicken Inasal (grilled or barbecued) -Filipino food

Spicy Beef Ramen-Japanese food

Chicken Adobo-Filipino food
It’s not hard to cook these food, but the preparation is time consuming because of the number of spices to chop and prepare. Don’t worry! The waiting part is worth it because the outcome’s very good.

No pain, no gain!

My inspirations:

No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers.
