Lindesnes Lighthouse

Lindesnes lighthouse (fyr)  is the oldest lighthouse in Norway. It is located just a couple of kilometers away from the southernmost part of the country which is Lindesnes. It was first lit in 1656 and is still being used today. Lindesnes is almost 3 hours car drive from Stavanger and 1 hour and 30 mins from Kristiansand.

I remember the first time I heard about lighthouses, I was around 5 years old. I think it was dad who told me stories that lighthouses are a ship captains’ “resthouse”. He told me that in order for the captains to live free in those lighthouses they would need to work inside the lighthouse by turning the lights on and off. If not their souls would be sucked by demons. Lol.

Anyway, last weekend was my friend’s bachelorette. We have decided to rent a flat in Lindesnes and had party there and the following day we went to Lindesnes fyr. None of us have been there before so everyone got really happy when we got there.
