It’s been a while since I blogged about teas. But it doesn’t mean that I stopped drinking it though. I admit that I’ve been drinking more coffee/espresso drinks lately because a cup of coffee is more available in covenient stores and saves time because there’s always brewed coffee at work. I could ofcourse drink these Twinnings tea we have at work but I just simply don’t like it.
Anyway, at home I have my favorite teas like sencha, oolong and matcha that I can enjoy along with some biscuits or a cake slice. My favorite this time is matcha from Hibiki-An. I bought two 40 grams matcha superior last year. A bit expensive (because of the shipping fee) than the ones that I bought from E-bay before but this matcha brand is one of the best that I’ve ever had. Hibiki-An is an authentic Japanese tea distributor from Kyoto, Japan so you can assure that the tea has good quality. Also, the shipping is fast. ๐ I got my orders just after a week. And I live in Norway.

Once I opened the little foil bag, you’ll be captivated by the scent of matcha powder. The scent is not just a typical green tea powder smell but it smells relaxing and mellow.

As a tea enthusiast like me, I love preparing matcha and I use that time to appreciate what I have and grateful of good things like this. However, if I have very limited time like when I have to go to work, I just put a teaspoon of matcha in my cup and put hot water on it and stir it with my spoon and get into my car and drive! ๐

Matcha preparation suggestion/tips from Hibiki-An:
- Sift matcha for a mellow flavor and to remove lumps
- Place 2 Chashaku of matcha (2g) into the Chawan bowl
- Add 70 ml of hot water
- Whisk quickly until making rich foam
In my case, I don’t have chashaku and the chawan bowl so I just used a teaspoon and a small bowl to prepare my Matcha. Then poured it into my cup. ๐
Before I forget, this post is not sponsored by Hibiki-An. Have a nice day!
