Slow Walks and Sunny Moments

I drove to the neighboring village of Knarvik yesterday because I wanted a bit of a change of scenery–and a chance to take longer, easy walks with my baby in the pram. I also felt like going somewhere new, somewhere I hadn’t really explored before. The sunny weather made it even better, like the perfect excuse to just get out and wander.

I’ve only been to Knarvik for errands and shopping, but there’s actually more to it than that. Like this wheelchair-and pram friendly walking trail Brekkeløypa.

Start of the trail
The Lonene lake

The trail is 1.8 kilometers long and in the middle of it, there’s a lake. Once you’re done with the trail, you can either go around again or continue your walk to another place. In my case, I left the trail and just walked wherever my feet led me.

Then I found the sport’s complex just 400 meters away from the start of Brekkeløypa trail. While I was walking, I ran into a colleague of mine who was training, and we had a bit of a chat.

The Norwegian church in Knarvik

The church is not hard to spot from the sport’s complex.

Meta’s new HQ? Nah, it’s just a warehouse. 😂

To sum up this day trip, I had a lovely walk with my baby. The Brekkeløypa trail is very pram-friendly and has an almost flat terrain.

I love how close it is–it’s only about an 18-minute drive from where I live, and around 30 minutes from Bergen. It’s perfect for a simple little day trip, and at the same time, it’s very accessible for everyone.
